So in short, Amnesty International accuses Facebook and Google of running surveillance-based business models that are “predicated on human rights abuse”.

Also, the response from Facebook is next level: “We collect data to sell effective ads so everyone can exercise their human rights.”
But then: “The use of our services is entirely based on personal choice.”
Like, our ads are system-critical because they enable everyone to use our free service to exercise their human rights but our free service actually is not system-critical at all, you’re welcome not to use.
