Chimps are occasional cannibals. Mailchimp seems to be no different.
Can micro web agencies and freelancers still afford exposing their go-to email marketing service to their clients if that service now has entered in direct competition with their key offering: making websites?
Yes. Because they are still (one of) the best newsletter services on the market. Hiding that from my clients would be unfaithful towards my clients. And that would hurt my revenue far worse.
Their tiers have also increased significantly. It’s no longer interesting to point clients towards them, after using it for 10+ years…
I’m a Mailchimp partner and my primary business is web design. I’ve no worries at the moment. The beta is limited and they are aiming for a very niche customer.
